Utah Trip

A week after we returned from Vegas, I left for Utah with Carol Day and 4 of her fellow nurse friends. We flew into Salt Lake City, Olympic City and Temple Square, and then got our van and drove south to the bottom of Utah.

First stop was Bryce Canyon and it was really, really cold. Lots of snow and ice and a lot of the trails we had planned on hiking were still closed. We were going to spend a few days there, but it was soooo cold, we headed as far south as we could go to Zion National Park.

This is what was piled on the side of the road and had not melted yet in April.

We stayed in the lodge at Bryce Canyon. Nice, but old, and it was a typical lodge. The elevation there was sooooo high, I had a tough time breathing the first nite.

This picture is a little out of place because this was when we were in Moab. Yes, we were sun bathing while our view was of snow covered mountains.......kewl.

Here we are at Arches National Park which is right outside of Moab. It was very hot and dry here, but this was nothing like any park we had seen before.

Yes, this was my favorite rock formation.....use your imagination.

Miss Carol won the prize for stupidest move of the trip. Yes, she climbed out to the overhang and sat on it. If you look closely, you can see a crack going down the rock about 4 feet behind her. One slip and she's a spec on the canyon floor!

Strike a pose.......unbelievable scenery.

We sat here for a while and watched cars and motorcycles attempt to go up and down this one lane unpaved road. No, we did not drive it.

Back in Salt Lake City and hitting the town we ran into a place called Mo's Grill, so of course we had to take a picture.
